This deserves its own section because getting it wrong is the most common failure with this shrimp.

They will not interbreed with each other, which is genuinely useful: Caridina and Neocaridina are different genera and can't cross. Water Parameters
Orange bees sit in the same care bracket as other Caridina cantonensis varieties, including crystal reds and pandas. The approach is the same.
Start with RO or RO/DI water at zero TDS. Add a Caridina specific GH remineralizer, one that raises general hardness without adding carbonate hardness. Neocaridina style GH/KH products will lift your KH and pH out of range.

A mature tank. Bee shrimp feed heavily on biofilm and do poorly in new setups. Let the tank run for at least two to three months before adding them.

Breeding
Orange bees breed like other bee shrimp: direct development, no larval stage, no brackish requirement. Females carry 20 to 30 eggs for roughly 30 days and shrimplets emerge as miniature adults that graze biofilm immediately.
The requirements are unglamorous:
Stable TDS. Drift is the main killer of both molts and breeding. Prepare water in advance and match it.
Small water changes. 10 to 15 percent, dripped slowly.
A group. Ten to fifteen minimum for a workable sex ratio and genetic diversity.
Biofilm for the babies. Shrimplets don't eat what adults eat. A mature tank with moss and botanicals feeds them without intervention.

Colour and What Affects It
Orange bee colour varies by line and by conditions. A few honest points:
Genetics set the ceiling. You can't feed a weakly coloured shrimp into a deeply coloured one. Buy the best stock you can.
Stress pales shrimp. A newly added shrimp often looks washed out and colours up over days as it settles.
Dark substrate helps perceived colour. Shrimp show better against dark backgrounds, and many keepers feel shrimp colour up more over dark substrate.
Diet supports colour but doesn't create it. Foods marketed for colour enhancement can help shrimp express their genetic potential. They won't exceed it.

Tank Mates
Keep it sparse. The soft acidic water suits few community fish, and most fish that fit will still eat shrimplets.

Acclimating New Orange Bees
More orange bees die in their first week than at any other point, and acclimation is where most of that happens.
Ask the seller for their parameters first. Specifically TDS, GH, and pH. A shrimp raised at TDS 120 and dropped into TDS 180 is being shocked, even though both numbers are within the published range. Match the seller's water at introduction and shift gradually over weeks if you want different numbers.
Drip acclimate slowly. Float the bag to equalize temperature for fifteen to twenty minutes, then drip tank water into a container holding the shrimp at roughly two to three drops per second. Take an hour or more. Taiwan Bees respond badly to fast changes, and this is the one step where patience directly buys survival.
Don't add the shipping water. Net the shrimp across rather than pouring the bag in.
Dim the lights. Reduced lighting for the first day lowers stress in animals that have just been through shipping.
Don't feed for 24 hours. They won't starve, and uneaten food in a tank with stressed shrimp is a liability.
Expect some losses anyway. Even with good technique, a few losses in the first week after shipping is common. Judge the group after two weeks rather than panicking on day two.
